What To Know For Volleyball

What To Know For Volleyball

In addition to the basic volleyball skills (passing, setting, hitting, and serving), we are looking for the following qualities and characteristics:
  • Coachability- She has a good attitude.  She listens to suggestions, and does her best to adapt to those suggestions.  She handles constructive criticism well, and asks how she can improve her game or become a better player.
  • Motivation-"hustles" on the court she moves her feet and plays until the ball drops.  She runs from one exercise to the next.  She utilizes her time in the gym well.  She looks for information outside of practice, and practices on her own time.
  • Team Player- She recognizes that volleyball is a team sport, and knows that the team is only as strong as the weakest link.  She does her best to help the team rise together.  She cheers on her teammates, she uses words of encouragement, and shows unity through physical gestures like high-fives, and team cheers.
