From May 2nd through May 13th, Lyman Gilmore will be having a Read-A-Thon to raise money for our school library. The library will directly benefit from all the proceeds.

The children will have two weeks to read the most minutes they can. Our goal is to have each child read at least 150 minutes, or 2 ½ hours, by the end of the two weeks. A reward will be given to the class that raises the most money.  Individual prizes will be given to the student who reads the most and the student who earns the most money. There will be a total of three prizes.

The children are asked to collect sponsors. (Similar to a jog-a-thon)  We are asking for a pledge of a specific amount per minute they read, or one maximum pledge. The children are encouraged, for their safety, to collect pledges only from family members, relatives, and friends.
For more information download the letter. Extra Pledge sheets are available to download as well.
