Little Miss Sunshine Directors' Visit

"Little Miss Sunshine" Directors Come to GilmoreGo To Top of Page

On Friday, September 8, we had a Gilmore Alumni and his wife join our GNN class, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris.  Jonathan was a student at Gilmore in 1968 and 69. They directed Little Miss Sunshine which came out in theaters in 2006.  Their upcoming film stars Emma Stone and Steve Carell.

The students were amazed someone like Dayton & Faris were at Gilmore!  They asked thoughtful questions and were inspired to work on their writing skills.  Dayton and Faris told them writers for Little Miss Sunshine went on to write Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Toy Story 3 and makes $250,000 a week!  The kids were blown away!
They also went to the library where we found his photos in the 1968-69 and 1969-70 yearbooks. He played in the Gilmore band! That's him in the front row with the French horn.

You can see more of what Dayton & Faris have done by going to their website.
